Even though my family was transfered to Atlanta by IBM when I was ending 11th grade, I went to school with most of the same kids from 4th grade (Ireland Dr. Elementary) through 11th at Byrd, and I'll always think of Byrd as my school !! Comments:I will be retiring from Cumberland County Schools on March 1,2011. I spent 20 years (1972-1992) at Byrd teaching Biology & Anatomy & Physiology and coaching cheerleaders. I went back to Byrd as principal in 2003. The 2009 school year I was named principal at Ashley Elementary and will leave here on March1. My Eagle years are my favorite memories and thanks to the 70's classes I remained in education because of the great students you were. I will see you at the reunion!
